Biology has evolved many interesting - and at times counterintuitive - approaches to managing risk, in part because the 'objective' is constantly changing, and in part because evolutionary mechanism is not constrained by human intellectual biases. In his book On the Origin of Risk, Timlett takes steps to relieve organizational reasoning of these biases to reassess risk models.
